Liverpool – Porto
Match Preview: Another big Champions League win for the Reds?
Liverpool beat Porto 5-0 in the away leg, their exquisite attacking play yielding a huge lead that all but guarantees that they will be in the Champions League quarter-finals when the draw is made next week. Despite the outcome of this tie is in little doubt, Tipbet offers extensive betting markets that ensure this is still a game not to be missed.
The Reds have one of the best frontlines in Europe and Mo Salah scored his 32nd goal of the campaign at the weekend as his side beat Newcastle United 2-0. This means that they are now in second place, 18 points off runaway leaders Manchester City, but well in the fight to finish as runners-up.
This weekend’s game against Manchester United at Old Trafford could well decide which team claims the berth, and keeping the momentum going could mean that Jurgen Klopp names a strong side at Anfield on Tuesday night. The Reds have won five of their last six matches in all competitions, scoring 18 times, but it is in defence that they have massively improved; it is no coincidence that their three clean sheets from their past four games have come from Loris Karius establishing himself as No1 and Virgil van Dijk getting used to his new surroundings.
Match Preview: Goals Market
Porto’s Champions League elimination should take nothing away from the fact that they are set to win the Primeira Liga – since the first-leg, they have won all four league games, and their 2-1 win over Sporting at the weekend means that they are five points clear of Benfica at the summit.
Sérgio Conceição will still expect his side to go to Anfield and lessen the deficit. For Porto seemingly to do the impossible they will have to score at least five times – a 5-0 away win is rated at 125 with Tipbet, and this would bring extra-time.
Other, more realistic, bets include picking which team will win on the night. Liverpool is 1.55 to do so, and their Portuguese opponents are 4.50 to secure a draw or 6.50 to win. Tipbet also has season bet markets, with Manchester City (3.80) the current favourites.
