Germany Bundesliga 2
(16 Mar 2018)
Fortuna Dusseldorf – Arminia Bielefeld
Match Preview: Another step towards the Bundesliga 2 Title?
Two wins in a week mean that Fortuna Dusseldorf is now clear favourites to finish top of the 2. Bundesliga and with it get a promotion to Germany’s Bundesliga. The club is sponsored by the sports bookmaker Tipbet and have shown consistency all season which is unlike what they have managed in previous years.
Match Preview: Table Standings
This has allowed them to open up a five-point lead over Nuremberg and they are nine points ahead of Holstein Kiel with eight matches to play so automatic promotion now seems a formality.
Arminia is themselves still in contention to get promoted, which is in itself an achievement considering that they finished 15th last season. The club is currently fifth and a win on Friday night would greatly boost their chances of closing the three-point gap to the play-off place.
Their form has been patchy, but they have only lost once in eight league games and there should be goals at the Esprit Arena given that both teams have scored over 40 times. Both of the clubs finding the net can be bet on at Tipbet.com with generous odds of 1.70 – Fortuna has not kept a clean sheet in five 2. Bundesliga matches.
Dusseldorf knows that they are within 15 points of securing promotion to the first division and 19 from guaranteeing top spot, though given their direct opponents’ inconsistency, substantially fewer points will probably be required to reach their goals. F95 have already got eight more points than they managed in all of last season, and Friday night represents another opportunity for them to get even closer to the league title.
Match Preview: Season Bets
Tipbet’s extensive odds markets for the match show that the home side is considered favourites to get three points. Dusseldorf is 2.10 to get their 16th win of the campaign and keep them at least five points clear of Nuremberg, who play on Sunday, by the end of the matchday 27.
In the season bets, it is a clear battle between Fortuna Dusseldorf (1.60) and Nuremberg (2.55) for the trophy – the two sides meet on the final day of the season in what could yet be a decider.
