Brazil – Switzerland
Brazil takes on Switzerland in Group E of the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
Brazil: Brazil comes into this game as one of the favourites to claim the ultimate prize in football, justifiably so as they topped the brutal South American qualifying group by a whopping ten points. Also, coach Tite and his team are unbeaten in their last six since the end of the qualifying campaign, including a victory over number-one ranked FIFA side, Germany. Brazil is undefeated in eleven overall and has lost just once in 21 games, conceding just five in that time.
Switzerland: Switzerland pushed EURO 2016 champions Portugal all the way in qualifying, and only a defeat in the last game cost them automatic qualification, though second place was where they deserved to finish. A comfortable play-off win over Northern Ireland was deserved, as they booked their place in Russia.
Conclusion: Two teams in great form meet in Rostov and, five-time winners, Brazil takes on a well-organized Switzerland side. As a tournament favourite, Brazil is expected to win this game, but whilst they have a stellar attacking line-up, they may be limited here by a strong and organised Switzerland defence.
