FIFA World Cup
(27 Jun 2018)
Mexico – Sweden
Sweden takes on Mexico in Group F of the 2018 FIFA World Cup, with the Swedes need a positive result here to maintain hopes of progressing.
Mexico: Group F always had an open look to it, but Mexico have excelled themselves so far, winning both games. Although fortunate to beat Germany by a goal, Mexico was deserved 2-1 winners against South Korea. Also, Mexicans have proved they now have the required tenacity and defensive discipline to complement their already impressive attacking threat which may see them become real contenders to lift the cup.
Sweden: Sweden may also be kicking themselves for not scoring more goals against South Korea in their opening match. They have kept three clean sheets in their last five matches, and six in their last ten in all competitions.
Conclusion: Sweden struggled to create much in their match with Germany, and it may be seen again here. Mexico only needs a draw although they can take advantage of a Swedish side. A tight and low-scoring match is expected.
